Dormer Loft Conversion

Internally, a dormer has vertical walls and horizontal ceiling, compared to the normal slanted sides of a roof. A dormer is the most common type of loft conversion
A flat roofed dormer loft conversion offers the maximum amount of space for your money and in some circumstances can be constructed without the requirement of planning permission, although it makes sense to check with your planning department.
Flat roofed dormers are easier to build than other types but you may require to match other aspects of your roof.
Dormer extensions can be gable fronted or hipped roofed but they are more expensive to construct because of their complexity.
