Many customers seem to think that a loft conversion is not possible with a ‘multi truss’ roof.
This is not the case. The majority of modern houses have trussed roofs, they are designed to take the weight of the roof tiles where there is no load bearing structure within the roof space.
Converting a loft into a usable space in this type of roof is quite straightforward, it is no more or less specialist than any other form of loft conversion. Although it does involve more labour.
It is necessary to make structural changes using a combination of steel beams, new rafters, vertical stud supports and new trimmers. These are designed to take the weight of the roof before the now redundant trusses are cut away.
